Studio: Painting (2013)
Acrylic and ink on paper and mylar
Dimensions vary: 24"–120”
This series brings together sketches, preparatory drawings, and large-scale paintings developed as part of my early studio research for installation and media-based projects. Working across paper and mylar, I explored gesture, structure, and material layering as a way to think through spatial concepts later realized in three-dimensional forms. The works range from quick notational studies to more developed compositions, reflecting an iterative process in which drawing and painting operated as testing grounds for ideas, atmospheres, and emergent visual vocabularies.
Collectively, these pieces form an archive of studio-based inquiry, documenting how intuitive mark-making and material experimentation informed subsequent installation, sculptural, and media works in my practice.
